British food at its best…
Welcome to The Pavilion Bar & Bistro…
We are situated in the stunning countryside of Birtle, Bury, Lancashire. As you arrive from Elbut Lane you will immediately discover the unique beauty of The Pavilion and its own picturesque grounds. We hope you will be in for a pleasant surprise with unspoilt views and meticulous landscapes, whilst only a stones throw away from Bury town centre.
As you enter our ‘award winning’ establishment with its individual character and charm you will receive a warm and relaxing greeting from our friendly team. Offering true Lancashire hospitality, the Bistro has a casual approach to traditional British cuisine with a contemporary twist, using only the freshest and finest seasonal ingredients.
Enjoy the ‘Great British Summer’ with a fancy cocktail and outdoor dining on our beautifully designed garden terrace, embracing spectacular views featuring our waterfall, stream around the Bistro and bowling green. You can even walk up an appetite whilst taking in the wonderful scenery, strolling around our stunning 5 acre lake. During those cold winter months cosy up with your favourite meal and glass of ‘Winter Pimms’ in-front of our warm fires and elegant decor.
In love with its setting, Eight years on the Pavilion Bistro continues to thrive as the ideal dining and drinking destination for all seasons. I hope you enjoy your visit.

“We take pride in all our ingredients, sourced from across the
land ‘and sea’ to bring you the finest fresh meat & fish”
our Head Chef Jonny
My philosophy and passion is to provide an eating experience that is based on working closely with our farmers, butchers and fishmongers to guarantee the very best ingredients, traditionally prepared and not overly presented, which hopefully allows the food to speak-for-itself. Always striving to produce great British cuisine in our own unique style. The Pavilion experience is defined as relaxing, rewarding, and refreshingly unique.
All our ingredients are seasonally sourced from across the land and sea so when it comes to quality and flavour there is no compromise, from our daily delivered fresh fish from Fleetwood to the meats from Ribble Valley. We always aim to find you the tastiest produce to ensure the highest quality experience possible, without pretence. All food is honestly and traditionally prepared for your enjoyment and served in a casual environment yet with its own individual character.

Our Bar Offering…
To support our chefs artisan craftsmanship I believe in offering with an extensive selection of the perfectly temperature controlled quality wines which of course compliments the menu. All wines are stored in our bespoke specialist fridges adapted to optimise their flavours and to ensure crisp white wines and sparkling champagnes. It doesn’t end there, I insist that all chilled wines are beautiful presented in a traditional ice bucket, not a cooler, to continue our guests enjoyment. Alternatively we also have a large selection of house wines specially chosen, and available for you to choose from our numerous wine barrels within the bar area.
My team and I take great pride in offering a vast selection of cocktails crafted from our extensive array of premium spirits including the freshest fruits. Even if you’re not dining please feel free to join us for a chilled draught Peroni or selection of premium ales, fruity ciders or specialists teas and coffees. Be it a quick drink or a sophisticated accompaniment to a meal, I try to cater for all drinking pallets.
